Short Curriculum Vitae

 

 

Anastasios Politis is a Lecturer at the Dept. of Informatics & Communications, TEI of Serres, Greece. He received his B. Eng. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK, his Dipl.-Eng. from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology at the University of Patras, Greece and his M.Sc. from the Dept. of Computer Engineering and Informatics at the same University. He completed his Ph.D. at the Dept. of Applied Informatics in the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece in 2011. His Thesis was focused on efficient multimedia transmission over wireless local area networks. He is the author and co-author of numerous journal and conference papers. He serves as a reviewer in the International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Communications (ICWMC) and the International Journal on Advances in Telecommunications. His research interests include QoS provisioning in wireless local area networks, wireless networks technologies and protocol engineering.

From 2001 to 2003 has served as a Signals officer in the Greek Army where he worked on the communications system "HERMES". From 2000 to 2007 he worked for companies in the private sector (Intracom

, Hellenic Sugar Industry and Q-Plan) on the field of computer networking. From 2006 to 2008 he worked as an external associate for the Technological Educational Institute of Serres, assisting on the development of the Tele-education room of the Institute and participated in the DVB-T research project for the County of Serres, undertaken by the Center for Technological Research (ΚΤΕ). From 2002 to 2011 he worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Informatics and Communications. In February 2010, he was elected Lecturer at the same Department.

He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Fiber Optics Association (FOA) and the Technical Chamber of Greece (ΤΕΕ).
