bullet Computer Networks (4th semester)

The aim of this course is to offer an introductory course in Computer and Data Networks to form the basis of further study for students in their degree course and in industry. After this course students should have general knowledge of Layered Protocols concept, on how Local Area Network Technologies and the Internet work and have basic network programming skills. More importantly, they will think like network people!

In the classroom the instructor focuses on motivating students. We believe that after having learned how to think about a topic and having understood the underlying reasons, students will be able to study the subject effectively by themselves.

 
         
bullet Computer Networks II (5th semester)

After this course students should have general knowledge on how routing technologies work. They will be given an overview of Network Security and Administration Problems and Techniques. They will also be able to understand technical papers in this area. Network design, troubleshooting, protocol analysis and router programming are targeted during the laboratory exercises of the course.

 
 

 

   
bullet Network Security and Administration (7th semester)

Science Fundamentals and Physics provide students with the funtamental knowledge to understand the scientific method and the basic tools of organizing and conducting experiments and then the basic knowledge and understanting of  Computer Science related Physics, e.g. Electromagnetism, Maxwell equations, Optics, Semiconductors, basic Electrical Circuit analysis, etc.  During the course students may also deal with  issues like: metal detectors, musical instruments, magnetic braking, electric motors, radios, TV, radars, superconductivity,  Doppler effect.

 

bullet Electrical Circuits Analysis ( from October 2002 since June 2005)

This course is intended to provide basic knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of electric circuits.  The student should develop the ability to learn and apply several approaches used to analyze electric circuits, and develop the ability to be able to choose between various approaches.

Students completing this course will master analysis of physical circuits through the use of Kirchhoff's laws and ideal circuit element models. Consequences of linearity are emphasized through superposition and Thevenin/ Norton equivalents. Transient analysis of first and second order circuits with unit step inputs and switched dc sources is emphasized to promote understanding of time-domain linear circuit response.
